Achilles in Vietnam by Jonathan Shay, a psychiatrist who works with a group of Vietnam veterants with severe, chronic post-traumatic stress disorder and who was stuck by thier similat experiences to Achilles in Homer's Illiad. This book uses the story of Achilles to talk about the kinds of experiences which can damage sodiers during combat. This lead to a greater understanding of combat stress.
